I went to the house last night ready to get to work on some drywall… but John and Carl had already finished. I am truly thankful to have people around that are 8.5 million times more competent than me. If it was just me I’d still be trying to figure out how to open the bucket with the drywall mud in it.
I picked up the floor today… it seems weird knowing that there is enough flooring in the back of my car to cover two rooms of our house.
The current plan for the rest of the week is something like this…
Thursday:
- sand and put some more mud on the drywall
- cabinets are being delivered
- mowing the yard again (I forgot how fast grass grows)
- digging out stumps from dead tree and bushes that we cut down
Friday:
- sand drywall for the last time
- prime the fresh drywall
- paint the kitchen
- clean out gutters
- take wood/brush to landscape waste center
- finish packing in the apartment
- put new recessed lights into the kitchen
Saturday:
- Pick up the moving truck
- Load up the truck with furniture and belongings
- drive to the new house
- unload as much as possible
- clean up for Kayla’s reception
- go to Kayla’s reception
- finish unloading (if needed)
Sunday:
- install cabinets
- cut/install countertops
- install sink
- start putting in the floor?
- drink a few beers
Monday:
- finish flooring
- put in baseboard
- take Mal someplace romantic for her birthday (Hardee’s?)
- ???
None of you probably care that much about my schedule, but I have a habit of losing all of the lists I have started recently… so this is mostly for me. Hopefully I don’t lose the internet.
