Deal Or No Deal

Crazy Kids

Things I Saw Today

Today was one of the most beautiful days of the year... even if I spent a good portion of the day sick. These are a few things I shot before work, during a softball game and on my way back to the office after throwing up in the parking lot of my last assignment. I shot the flowers A) for my wife, who has wanted pictures of flowers, and B) so I could try out my new macro lens. There's definitely a learning curve to shooting six inches away from something. Earth Day

Raindrops

I liked the way the raindrops danced across my window during the drive from my baseball game in Shelbyville back to the office this evening. I wasn't a big fan of the rain during the game... especially since I didn't bring my rain pants. Sigh. I guess I should just wear them all the time... just in case it happens to rain while i am away from my car.

Train?!?

I'm on a renewed kick to get unfat... so part of my new routine includes drinking water. I may have gone a little overboard yesterday when I drank eight 20-ounce bottles of water while at work. About halfway through my commute home from the office I had that feeling like I was going to barely make it home without peeing my pants. I found a robin that wasn't too scared of me this afternoon. He's resting in a small tree in my neighbor's back yard... nothing too exciting, just getting my bird photos back into full swing.

Earthquake

Anyone else wake up to an earthquake? Our bed was shaking pretty hard, so I thought Mal was snoring... but it was actually a 5.4 magnitude quake centered about 110 miles away from here in West Salem, Ill. From the Associated Press: WEST SALEM, Ill. - A 5.4 earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people awake up to 350 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor. Hunting Wabbit

I got back to the office this evening after my last assignment and found a little rabbit in the fenced in area near our giant air conditioning units... then I shot it. Sure, it was with a camera, but he's lucky I didn't have a rifle in my camera bag... I stopped carrying that a while ago.

57.4 MPG

I got my car to achieve 57.4 mpg for a few minutes this evening. I had to stop and get gas and realized I was on the top of a hill, so I reset the computer in the car as I left the parking lot and just coasted down the hill in neutral. It was great... normally I get about 28.7 mpg. By the time I got back to the office my display had me in the mid 30s... I want to find a gas station on top of a mountain and see what I can do with that.
