01.25.08Streaks of Light
General (0)I got to go down to Mattoon for an assignment Wednesday (More about that after it runs). The sky was really incredible right after sunset... I really wanted to stop and take a good picture, but I wanted to hurry home to spend some time with Mal. So, I decided to take a picture while driving up Route 45... it's not a good photo at all, but I am intrigued by the pattern of the streaks.

01.25.08Bumper Sticker
General (1)I saw this bumper sticker in the drive-through lane during lunch. It's a nice gesture, and this is not an insult of the school displayed, but when did we become so politically correct that everyone gets a bumper sticker? Wouldn't it suck to be the sibling that was on the honor roll and still had to ride around in the car with the rest of the family with the "all students" sticker on the back bumper? I don't know... I thought it was funny. I probably spent way too much time thinking about it...

General (0)I don't normally shoot a lot of vertical photos, but I've noticed myself turning the camera more the past couple of weeks... I saw this sunset when I was leaving the office last night and had to shoot it vertically to keep some nasty power lines and junk out of the frame.

01.24.08An Inconvenient Sinus Headache
General (2)So I just checked the weather forecast for the week... low of -3 degrees tonight and a high of 48 with a chance of rain on Monday. Was the weather this crazy back when we were kids? I really don't remember any 50+ degree changes in a five-day period during winter. I wish Al Gore and Mother Nature would stop screwing with my sinuses.

01.23.08Dinner and a rant
General (0)I think I'm just about caught up with updates here... no pictures to post tonight, but I want to get in the habit of writing something everyday. Mal and I went to Monical's (which has a terrible website) for dinner with Steph and Danny. We had the usual conversation -- the girls tried to say that Danny and I don't listen and blah blah blah. General (0)Mal and I had a few photo people from school over this weekend. It was a good time. Everyone got to experience an epic Guitar Hero showdown between Mal and Eric... apparently Mal won a few battles, but Eric won the war. I actually got to play for a little while... still not very good, but I seemed better thanks to a few adult beverages. General (0)Brody's birthday party was like 10 days ago... completely forgot to edit and post these. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago I was speeding home to Danville with Mal when he was born. Apparently he is a big fan of Diego... I guess it's some sort of cartoon character. The last time I watched cartoons Scooby and the gang were foiling some evil plot. Brody had Diego toys, a Diego lamp, Diego cake, and lots of other stuff... Kids have some cool things these days. I still remember my second birthday. I think the theme was rusty ...

01.22.08Eisenhower vs. Richwoods
General (0)I've watched War Photographer twice this week... and I've been reading Scott Strazzante's blog religiously for the past few months. Throw in the fact that my color vision has seemed pretty screwy the past few weeks and it all makes me wish that I could always shoot black and white images with a 50mm lens . I got to shoot Eisenhower in a game against Richwoods at Bradley University's fieldhouse in Peoria last night. I wish I could shoot basketball like this every night... good action, decent light, big chunks of dark background... the only thing I would add is emotion. ...
