One of those days

Today felt like it should be Friday. What makes it worse is I didn’t even go to work on Monday and I have to work on Saturday. Sigh…

Nothing was going right today. The photo sheet for my afternoon assignment appeared like a rabbit in a hat… it was in the tray, but no one saw it when I called to check in for the day. So I got to work about 10 minutes before the assignment was scheduled… the roads were disgusting, so it took me almost 40 minutes to drive to the high school instead of the 10 it should have taken. I wandered around the halls of the high school for a few minutes before I found someone who was able to tell me that wrestling practice is across the street at the middle school. Awesome.

I got to practice to find out that they were running the stairs for the rest of the afternoon. So, my wrestling art is a kid running. Cool.

My 7:30 basketball game in Decatur was canceled, but replaced with a 6:00 in Maroa… so I had to hurry up and crawl up the snow-covered highway for that. Nothing too major, my car almost didn’t make it up one of the hills in town, though.

Game went OK… nothing too exciting. The drive home was fun. Apparently I’m pretty good at guessing where the road is. There were a few cars/trucks off in the ditch. For my travel on east-west roads the roads weren’t the problem… the blowing snow was tricky. My drive on the north-south road was the opposite.

Things could be worse… I could be doing a job that I hate and coming home to an empty apartment. Well… I did that tonight, but that’s only because Mal stayed at Juli’s tonight because of the roads. I do have an extremely obnoxious cat purring on my lap covering me with hair right now… so I still feel loved.

I made it home in one piece… now I have to figure out if our landlord takes care of the lot and sidewalks… I don’t have a snow shovel.

Oh well… maybe the drifting snow will help warm the apartment up.
