Crunch

If getting into a 3-car accident on your way to work is on your list of things to do, go ahead and cross it off... it's not much fun. So... yeah. Susie, my Saturn, was in a Chevy Trailblazer/Oldsmobile Alero 3-way this morning. Somehow, my car is the only one with any real damage. I'm stiff and sore, but I'll be alright. Sorry Mal, you can't get rid of me yet. I called my boss to tell him I would be late... his first question: "Is the camera OK?"Â I thought it was funny.

Goofy

Mal got her haircut Tuesday and asked me to take some pictures to send to one of her friends... she goofed around for a second when we were done. I showed her one of the photos on the back of the camera and said I was going to blog about it... she mumbled some physical threat, so I decided to post the next frame instead... pretty easy to do when you're shooting 10 pictures a second. Happy Halloween

Work will be a more serious day than originally planned, so I can't dress up for Halloween. That's my excuse this year... I really wasn't planning on dressing up anyway. Instead of a current photo, you get this cute picture of me from my childhood... back before I was so manly and sexy. Note the details... instead of being an Apple IIe, I was a Pumpkin computer. Happy Birthday, Kevin

I just wanted to give a quick Happy Birthday shout-out to Kevin "I look like a bad-ass even when I'm playing ping pong" German. Thanks for all of the advice lately... whether it's answering my stupid questions or just writing about your own learning process on your blog. If I ever get married again, you'll definitely shoot that wedding too. Hopefully I won't be calling you about that, though. Hope you get a little bit of relaxation from sleeping in homeless shelters and fighting wildfires today.

Curtis Orchard

Three Games

I got to shoot three football games in three different towns Saturday. It made for a bit of a long day, but I wouldn't want to do anything else for a living. I started out at the U of I homecoming game in Champaign. I shot the first half, edited and transmitted my stuff in the media tent and then took off for Arcola. Illinois won the game 28-17, and are now bowl eligible... I could handle shooting a bowl game during the holidays. Arcola was a close game... they are a strong first-half game, and their opponent, South Fulton, plays well ...

State Soccer

I drove up to Naperville to shoot Teutopolis vs. Rochester in the IHSA Class A state quarterfinal game. The rain started as soon as the game started and didn't stop the entire time I was there. I really wanted to shoot the crap out of this game, but I couldn't get any emotion from these guys to save my life. The last losing game I shot most of the bench was in tears. Not these guys. I suppose they shouldn't be too upset. This tiny school in the middle of nowhere became one of the best teams in the state. Read the newspaper's ...

Update from the burbs

Should burbs be in quotation marks ("burbs") or have an apostrophe in front of it ('burbs)? Or does it stand alone? Anyway... I'm home from shooting soccer in the suburbs. Teutopolis lost 4-0, but they played a good game. It rained the entire game, so that was not great... but, I bought a new rain suit this week so guess who stayed dry and warm for the whole game? Me. I'm too tired to post any photos or write anything witty, so I'm going to bed. I'll post some photos before the first of three football games I'm working tomorrow. I love this ...

Rainy Drive

Shot this as I was leaving town this morning to shoot Teutopolis at IHSA state soccer in Naperville. The rain stopped once I hit the edge of the city... let's hope it stays that way. I'll update more after the game.
