I turned around during a moment of boredom at a football game tonight to see the moon rising through the uprights at the other end of the field.
Poulter always used to say “when you have a good photo turn around and you’ll find a better one.” during his photo classes. This may not be better for my assignment, but it’s the only photo from the night that I’m close to being happy with.
I’m still trying to get used to the fact that people play football under what seems to be a few bedroom nightlights taped to a pole. Some of these high schools are unbearably dark.

It’s funny you mention that about Poulter. When I have consultations with brides and grooms about their wedding day, I ALWAYS mention that “teaching” because as it’s something that gives us professionals street cred. Ask an amateur fotog about that and you’d get a “Huh?”
I always start the conversation “When I took my first photography course in college my professor said…” You should see their eyes light up after I finish the teaching.
Never ever forget where you came from. Always give Poulter a shout-out when you can.
