I got to be around quite a few political/financial bigwigs today.
It was 95 degrees today, so many of them were dressed casually. Alexi Giannoulias wore jeans and a polo shirt, Pat Quinn wore a suit without the jacket and his shirt sleeves rolled up, the local guys all had on khakis and polo shirts. But one of them, a U.S. Representative that will remain anonymous, was a little daring… he had two buttons unbuttoned on his dress shirt with a gold chain resting in his old man chest hair. That’s pretty bold, especially for a Republican.
Here’s a brief list of some of the highlights:
- Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn
- State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias
- U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns
- CEO of ADM Patricia A. Woertz
- A couple state senators and local politicians
I don’t know why I get such a kick out of meeting these people, but I do.
I guess it could be worse.
I could dream about meeting Britney Spears, Bill O’Reilly or Paris Hilton.
