I hardly consider myself an activist... maybe about the environment, but that's another blog post. I want everyone I know to watch this movie. It was a big eye-opener for me. I have never wanted to move from the USA as much as I do now. Well, there was that one time when I was 11 and discovered the Swedish Bikini Team... but that's probably another blog post as well. Kid: "I like turtles." Reporter: "Alright..." I have three little sisters, so I have heard some pretty random things come out of their mouths... but this kid takes the prize for weirdest kid answer ever.

EIU wrestlers

0625 Wrestltng-EH, by Eric Hiltner For the non-EIU crowd here on the blog, the EIU wrestling program got canned by the university last month for not meeting academic standards. A grass-roots movement quickly followed to try to encourage the administration to reverse it. I want to support it... I really do. I think wrestling is a very under-appreciated, under-funded and under-supported sport on campus. But seriously? You show up at the Board of Trustees meeting to make a point and you spell the name of your own sport wrong? Sigh. (Photo courtesy of the summer intern)

Happy Birthday, Mal!

0106 Colts Game 028-SH, by grizzly_lightning Just wanted to take a second to wish Mal a happy birthday... golden birthday and bridal shower on the same day. I wish my bridal shower was on my birthday... I even used a photo from one of the Colts games just to make her happy. She doesn't know it, but she'd be even happier if this photo was taken in Soldier Field during a Bears game. Maybe she'll get to experience that someday.

I wasn't a big fan of the ending, but I also had no background to go off of. Speaking of no background...Â Hillary's campaign unveiled their new theme song, which I won't even get started on, by doing their own version of the Sopranos finale. All I can do is sigh. The only redeeming quality in this video is Bill's "What, no onion rings?"

0609 Engagement Portrait, by grizzly_lightning Mal and I are (finally) getting our engagement portraits done tomorrow in Champaign. We thought we could just do it ourselves with the webcam on my laptop but then we would lose the deposit... I'm usually not one for stupid photo tricks, but if you have a webcam, cameroid.com is a pretty fun place to waste some time. The Junior Varsity, by em0rix My friend's band, The Junior Varsity, has a new CD (Cinematographic) coming out Tuesday. I don't think they need any extra help promoting it -- they are everywhere on MySpace -- but you should check it out. It's only $12.99 at Best Buy, that's about the same as a gallon of gas for some of you. I don't normally plug things here on the blog, but I really like the stuff on this album. Little late

header, by grizzly_lightning I've been procrastinating a little bit with our wedding site, but I gave it a tasty overhaul early this morning. It could be worse... I could still be working on it the day of the wedding. Not that I would ever put something off until the last minute. OK, maybe I do that everyday, but you know what I mean.
