Hanging with Mr. Cooper

One of the workers at the Douglas Hart Nature Center pointed this Cooper's Hawk out to me today. I've never seen one so close.
In case you didn't know, Cooper's Hawks eat smaller birds. So birds usually scatter when they see this guy coming.
This particular hawk had a pretty interesting technique. He'd fly in from the north and some of the smaller birds would fly into the big viewing window and then fall to the ground injured. The hawk when then double back and scoop up the injured bird for his afternoon snack.
