Accident / January 5, 2007 // Charleston, Ill. I was moving my camera from the back seat to the front seat on my way home from work last night and I accidentally pressed the shutter button... this happened. It's not sharp or anything that I would want to keep... but I still kind of like it for some reason. I don't know if it's the lens flare or the reflection of the wet asphalt, but I can't stop looking at it. Maybe because it's almost 4:00 in the morning. It's a very accidental piece of art. Solitaire

My Job / January 5, 2007 // Mattoon, Ill. All of our web servers at work crashed Friday. Our site was down for about 13 hours. Being the web guy and not being able to do any web things was kind of a pain. So I played solitaire for a while. I'm convinced that Microsoft made the game harder in XP Pro than in XP home... I win all the time at home, but at work I suck really bad. I think they do it so you get frustrated and get back to work. I kept playing... take that Bill Gates.

Wedding Dress Contest

Mal went shopping for a wedding dress this weekend. Apparently she picked out a dress already, but I won't know anything about it until the day of the wedding. I hate surprises. She's telling me that it has big, poofy sleeves... lots of colored lace and ribbon... and from her accounts -- a few extra yards of ugliness. I have a feeling that this isn't anywhere close... so I've been scanning wedding boutique websites and magazines looking at all kinds of dresses. I'm not still not at ease because I hate surprises. I'm going to have a little fun with it. I'm making a contest... leave ...

I haven't been able to log in to my blog for several hours, which isn't really an issue... I don't really have much to talk about. I didn't make any New Year's resolutions, so that discussion is out. I've already told you about New Year's Eve... Work is the same... My life is pretty exciting.

Sad Face

Sad Face // January 01, 2007 // Danville, Ill. This is Mal's sad face after getting beat in Guitar Hero early Monday morning. It was hard to pick who to cheer for -- family or fiance. She was playing against my cousin, Katie, for most of the night (I think this match was against Nick). Mal may have found someone more competitive at video games than she is... Oh well, I still can't beat her.

Visit From Chris

Chris / December 31, 2006 // Danville, Ill. It was really nice to see Chris this weekend... I hadn't seen him for about six months, and probably won't see him again for another eight months when he is here for the wedding. We had a good time over at Jordan's house all night. No Power, No Problem

Candle and Liquor ? January 1, 2007 // Danville, Ill. We had some nasty storms roll through around dinner time on New Year's Eve. Some of the storms were bad enough to make the lights flicker back home in Charleston. In Danville, where Mal and I were staying, the power went out completely from 6-something p.m. until about 3 a.m. on New Year's Day. We were able to party the night away with lots of candles and lots of liquor... I had a great time, especially since Chris was there.
