New iPod

I'm really missing my iPod right now. I had to burn a CD (gasp!) so I could listen to music at work. I have to admit, it felt pretty nostalgic. I haven't touched a CD for a long time. It's amazing how much music has changed over the past few years. When I was in high school, you had to have some serious cash to buy a CD burner, and blank CD's were a few bucks a piece. I haven't been in the dating world for a long time, and hopefully I won't ever be, but if I ever have to start from scratch with the ladies I want to model my dates like the MTV show, Next. Radioactive butterfly

I know that this commercial has been around for a while, but I've seen it a few times tonight and it's starting to annoy me. I'm sure you've seen the one I'm talking about -- the Lunesta commercial with the glowing butterfly that floats around. What the heck is up with that? Who came into the conference room that day and said, "I know, how about a radioactive butterfly that hovers above your face until you fall asleep?" I'm all for thinking 'outside the box', but that is just ridiculous. Now I'm going to try to sleep... without radioactive butterflies.

Football

Mal's mom says I'm a closet fan. Mal's aunt also thinks I'm gay... but I'm not coming out of either closet. The Saints, with EIU alum Sean Payton as head coach, play the late game. Sunday afternoon is the Bears game. I hope they crush Seattle. If Rex screws this one up I may drive to Chicago and punch him in the kidneys. I really don't care about the evening game... but I hope that New England wins ...

Sick

My week has been topped off by getting sick. It feels like a light version of the flu... at least so far. I'm more worried about the weather. All of the counties around me are under an ice storm warning, but Coles county is not. I'm supposed to go to Champaign in the morning to look at places for our wedding reception, but if I'm sick and it's icy I'm pretty sure I'm staying home. I wish I wasn't sick... I got robbed

Busted Window // January 11, 2007 // Mattoon, Ill. I've never before appreciated 1/8" of glass like I do now. I had to make the 12-mile drive from work to my apartment with no window in the freezing cold because someone busted out my window and stole a bunch of stuff out of my car while I was at work Wednesday night. Holding Gus / March 7, 2006 // Charleston, Ill. Gus, Mallory's pet hamster, died Wednesday at the age of ten months. Gus liked to chew on things, stuff his mouth with seeds, run in his wheel and burrow in his cage. Gus leaves behind his special play-friend, Champ. Colts Game

Colts Game / January 6, 2007 // Indianapolis So I've been lazy and I'm just now getting pictures up from the Colts game this weekend. We had great seats, the crowd was amazing, the beer was good... I had a great time at my first game as a spectator. I have to admit, I think I spent a good quarter of the game staring at the remote aerial camera that gives the bird's eye view on TV. Laser Rocket Arms

I'm going to Indianapolis today to see the Colts playoff game against the Chiefs. I'm pretty excited about it, even if it means watching *dumb, hick voice* Peyton Manning's team, maybe. This will be the first time that I have ever gone to a football game -- high school, college or pro -- and just watched the game. I'll let you know how it went... my prediction: Chiefs by three.
