Red-Bellied Woodpecker / January 22, 2007 // Mattoon, Ill.
I was cleaning out some files on my computer today and stumbled across a folder of photos from last week that I had completely forgotten about.
I haven’t subjected you to any bird photos lately, so here is a Red-Bellied Woodpecker from my hike at the Douglas Hart Nature Center last Monday. It was easy to spot birds that day with the ground covered in snow. The woodpeckers and cardinals really jumped out against the white ground and branches.
Lucky for the birds I’m shooting frames and not bullets. Although, who would shoot a woodpecker?
Wait, nevermind, I’m still living in Coles county.
