I went to graduation ceremonies at Eastern over the weekend to watch Mal get her diploma… I’m used to covering the event and getting close to the stage to get photos, so why should this year be any different?
As we get in to Lantz, the lady at the door asks me for my ticket, and I tell her I’m with the newspaper and show her my camera… I forgot to bring a credential or business card or anything. She looked like she didn’t believe me, so I just said “I’m Stephen Haas” — she let me right in…
I think dad, who was right behind me, was in shock.
