The hamster population in my apartment has doubled this weekend since I’m hamster-sitting Gus, Mal’s hamster (which is actually a female, but whatever).
Normally I only have one hamster to play with, so tonight I decided to let the two hamsters play together to see what happened. I knew it would probably be either a hissing fight or a Cinemax movie…
Apparently I should have lit some candles and turned up the Barry White.
It was funny watching how the two of them interacted. It reminded me of humans… they noticed each other from across the cage, kept eye contact, got closer, started touching each other… then Champ stood on his hind legs to make himself bigger.
I stopped them before anything else could happen. What would all the other hamsters think if Gus went all the way on the first date?













[...] Max was raised with several other cats, so I thought he would be cool with Nomsa hanging out around the apartment. I was wrong. Apparently Max is enjoying being king of the castle now… he hissed at Colin’s cat and ended up on top of the recliner just watching every move Nomsa made. It was funny to watch… not as funny as putting a couple of hamsters in a cage together, or at least that’s what I’ve heard. [...]
