One of my editors from Chicago told me that I HAD to get pictures of Chief Illiniwek performing at halftime Saturday because it was going to be his last dance.
I wanted to be sure to get something close and tight. This was a little too close. I couldn’t even focus on him.
It will be interesting to see if this is actually his last dance. I’ve heard it for the past couple of years, but he’s always back the next season. I guess we’ll find out on Sept. 8 against Western.
