OK, maybe he didn’t kill my PC, but I bet he knows who did.
I came home from work tonight with two things on my to-do list — backup my photos and music on my new 320GB external drive and then install the new evaluation copy of Windows Vista.
I opened the door to my room to see a screen saver running. I don’t use screen savers.
When I moved the mouse I saw a big blue box with a logo called ‘PORTF***ER’ (use your imagination) and it had a bunch of text and numbers scrolling way too fast.
I quickly shut my computer off… but when it came back on, all of my passwords had been changed.
Bastards. I’ve never had a serious virus.
It didn’t help that when I turned my TV on Brad Pitt was leaping out of the Trojan Horse in Troy while a trojan horse virus was killing my computer.
Luckily, I live next to Wal-Mart and I had a fresh install disk for the new Windows, so I ran over and bought a new hard drive …and now I’m back.
I have no idea if any of my pictures, music or documents are intact. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
