The bright red and white shoe was out in the middle of the turf for most of the day, and no one ever came back to get it. Now it's probably at lost and found or in a dumpster. Tracktastic - Part Three

Track official / May 27, 2006 // Charleston, Ill. I had some free time during the track meet today, so I played around with a few new angles. This shot was on top of the press box, and I also got some good stuff laying on the field, crouching in the steeplechase pit and from almost everywhere in between. I'm going to post a SportsShooter update, but I'm too tired to do it now. Look for something tomorrow. I plan on spending the rest of the weekend applying aloe to my sunburnt sunburn. Tracktastic - Part Two

Mohawks don't make you faster I get bored easily, especially at repetitive things like track and field tournaments. I really liked this guy's mohawk. Not enough to really want one myself, but enough to picture myself with one. The hairdo didn't give him any aerodynamic advantages over the rest of the jumpers in his heat. Nothing too extraordinary from the track meet today except for my sweet sunburn. By sweet I mean painful. I'll post again after tomorrow's meet unless my fingers are too burnt to type. The forecast for tomorrow calls for highs in the upper 80s/ lower 90s. I just hope the rain holds off.

She has put Orajel in my Coke, put cookies on my desk when I was trying to start a diet and likes to try to pull my chair out when I'm starting to sit down. Starter Pistol / Saturday, May 20, 2006 // Charleston, Ill. I covered IHSA girl's state track over the weekend. I didn't get anything too exciting, but I felt a little rusty. I haven't had to shoot sports in months, and now I've done two state championships in two weeks. It's not spectacular, but I posted some photos on SportsShooter. Who in their right mind steals an entire dryer load full of towels? Someone stole all of my towels from the laundry room of my apartment building Thursday. I was not happy when I realized I had to shower and dry myself off with a hand towel. I would understand a little if I had nice towels, but all of my towels were falling apart! One of my friends had someone steal some of her clothes from the laundromat last year. I laughed at it then. Now I kind of understand why she was so upset. Stupid people.

Streetlights, Rain and Dawn / Thursday, May 18, 2006 // Mattoon, Ill. I have been working a lot lately. A lot. I've been going in early (around 2 p.m.) and staying until after sunrise the next day. I was surprised to re-discover how pretty light can be early in the morning. I shot a bunch of stuff through my rain-covered car windows yesterday. I think it turned out to be pretty cool. Blue Jay / Thursday, May 11, 2006 // Mattoon, Ill. I had a small window of time to play with Poulter's digiscope setup last week. It's tough, but can have some great results. Just when I was staring to get the hang of it, the battery died. I got one good shot out of it though. This Blue Jay was on a bird feeder about 30 feet away from me when I took this...
