News about my crotch

It feels like I have Osama bin Laden hiding in my crotch.

Here is an update to catch you up on everything that’s been going on since late February. I’m really tired, so this won’t be in any particular order.

Some of you may know… but I’ve been out of commission for the past few weeks. I’ve been calling it “boy problems” or “bad plumbing”… but things are looking better. I don’t have cancer, which is good, but I might still need surgery, which I’m not looking forward to.

I’m just relieved it’s not cancer.

I will thank my doctor for prescribing what I now know to be a gift from the gods, Vicodin.

That is some great stuff.

It makes me really tired, so I couldn’t drive (at least I wasn’t supposed to), so I spent a lot of time at my apartment.

I’ve had four strangers play with my ‘business’ in the past three weeks. Actually, I had to pay four people to do that. That’s kind of sad. After tomorrow it will be five people. I guess if anyone else wants to jump on this bandwagon, let me know.

I have a habit of finding bands about four months before they get popular, listening to them a few too many times, and then getting sick of them by the time everyone else thinks they are cool. It’s been that way with Howie Day, Death Cab for Cutie, James Blunt, Amos Lee, The Fray, Aqualung, Panic! at the Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Daniel Powter and a bunch of other groups that you will find cool in a few months. Mal hates it, but got a good laugh when VH1 talked about people like me on their ‘Best Week Ever’ show Sunday night. Hey, I can’t help it that I’m cool. Come to me in a few months when you want to hear something good.

I get bored easily, and sometimes a little lonely all by myself, so I bought a few plants, an exercise bench and a hamster.

My aloe vera plant is named ‘The Octagon’, the ivy is named ‘Dr. Philip Noisewater’ and the croton is ‘James Westphal’. The first person to tell me what movie I got those names from wins a prize (which will be determined later).

My dwarf hamster, Champ, is probably the easiest, and coolest, pet to take care of. He does nothing but sleep. He’s like a tiny, hairy Mallory with a tail. (It’s a toss-up for which one is cuter)

Also in my time laying around the apartment, I’ve become hooked on minesweeper (the computer game), Sleeper Cell (great show on Showtime) and birdwatching. I’m going to put a birdfeeder in the tree outside of my bedroom window just to get a closer look at the crazy birds.

Besides work, which is a barrel of fun everyday (sarcasm), that pretty much sums up the past few weeks. I’m going to get back in the swing of posting now.
