So sore…

I doubled my upper-body workout tonight. I feel good now, but I have a feeling that things won’t be so great when I wake up in a few hours.

I’ve been keeping track of my exercise and diet stuff for a new program in Coles county, Reshaping Coles. There are some good and bad things about it, but I find ways to see bad in everything.

It is supposed to be the “Biggest Loser Challenge” for the area… but there is no incentive to lose weight. Weight is not a factor at all in the contest, so I’m not really sure what to think about it.

You get points for things that you eat and minutes of activity.

So, theoretically, I could drink eight gallons of water a day and win the water award. I would also bloat up to 450 pounds and have water leaking from every pore of my body, but I’d have a sweet trophy to put on my shelf.

Right now I’m leading the Journal Gazette team, Fit To Print, (I know, it’s catchy) in activity points and water points. It is supposed to last 15 weeks… so we’ll see how it goes. I already keep track of my diet and have a workout plan that I follow, so it just seemed easy to get points for doing something I was already doing.

I wish I could get points for things that I already do… like cleaning. I’d wipe the floors with anyone that challenged me. (would I get bonus points for that?)

Dad is working on his own workout/diet plan… Mom says he lost 14 pounds in two weeks. Looks like I have competition.

On paper, it looks like we’re getting some new computers for the photo desk at work sometime in the next two months. I’ll believe it when I see it. Right now i can’t even check my email without the machines locking up on me. I guess you can’t expect much from Apple G3s that are almost as old as Tickle Me Elmo.

I’ve been digging around the DEN website and I am very impressed with what they are doing. Tim Martin did a nice audio slideshow on Mozart’s 250th birthdayNora put together a neat package (for what she had) on the Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament and the blogs have actually entertaining to read, which is more than you can say about some news sites
