A 10-minute commute plus sheer boredom with lots of gadgets turns into a self portrait while driving.
This self-portrait was taken while driving home from work Wednesday night. The camera was clamped to my dashboard and the flash was clamped to the handle of the passenger-side door, both fired with a remote. A one-second exposure at f/11 was used with a rear-curtain sync on the flash.
Yes, I am that bored.
The fun thing was the looks I got from other drivers on the road.
I haven’t been posting much this week because I just can’t stand to look at my computer anymore. I sit in front of a PC all night at work, the last thing I want to do when I get home is sit in front of a PC.
I’ve lost 16 pounds now since Jan. 1. All I can think about is exercise now. I either stretch or look for things to lift when work gets slow. When I’m at home I cook my healthy meals about a week in advance and then exercise or walk around the park some more. I guess there are worse things I could be doing with my time.
The camera tossing is starting to get a lot of international press, and the AP is picking up a story with my photos later next week.
I applied for a new job this week. I’m not too optimistic about it, but I figure it can’t hurt to try.
I got one of my coworkers good this week… she accidentally knocked her plate off the table during dinner Wednesday night, so I bought a bib and sipper cup for her and set it on her desk Thursday while she was in a meeting. She was pretty embarassed, but it was all in fun. I could have stopped with that, but I had another co-worker spread out a plastic dropcloth in the break room before dinner. She came in, wadded the plastic up and threw it in the corner. It’s fun to get her riled up.
That’s all the exciting news in my life this week… I’ll try to post more regularly, I promise.

I would never disclose our … so how about this weather?
