On my quest for a daily photo for myself, I wandered through the old warehouse at work where the presses used to be. I’m pretty sure I will find a few fun things back there to take pictures of, including these helmets hanging on the wall.
I’ve heard it said that ‘Home is Where You Hang Your Hat’… what about these guys? When we still printed the paper on our presses this was where they worked.
Now, in the empty warehouse where the presses used to be, no one even knows these helmets are hanging here.
The walls are stained with newsprint ink, the smell of the pressroom is still strong, but no one is around anymore.
Everyone went home, and left their hats behind.

Nice shot of the helmets from the old pressroom. It is sad to wander through there, knowing how the room’s nightly, rumbling flurry of activity has been silenced. Before they took the press out, I strolled through there and saw some copies of the last issue just sitting on the press, frozen in time. Don’t know why I didn’t get a photo of that. Where were you then, Mr. Haas?! I’m sure you’ll be able to find a lot of cool shots back there — please share them.
