I didn't know that I was supposed to dress like Sonny Crockett on "Miami Vice" to wash my clothes. I saw this sign at the laundromat this weekend while I was doing my laundry. I thought it was funny. I just realized that some of you may not even know what "Miami Vice" is. I know, I'm an old man. I remember being about four or five, and wanting a sportcoat like Don Johnson wore on the show. Finally!

A picture from my internship over the summer. I finally got a picture up on the front page of "A Photo a Day." I've been posting for a couple of years on the APAD list, but I've never been on the 'front' before. I don't know why I'm making such a big deal about it, I guess it's been one of my weird personal goals. Oh well... it doesn't matter... Old Main with the Christmas lights on. The same thing, but I did a 2 second exposure cameratoss... Sorry Danny... I had to do it. I got back in to town a little earlier than normal... and I was like a mosquito to a bug light. I couldn't help but go to Old Main and take a picture. Who cares if it's 9 degrees? Danny, I still want to try this with you... I just had to try it once. Man, that sounds a lot like a lovers quarrel. Anyway... Wild feature chase

This was the most exciting part of my day. Sad, huh? Thanks to the awesome planning and communication skills at our newspaper, we had no art for the front page when I came in at 3:00 today. The photographers had been busy shooting check donations and pets of the week that they didn't have time to get to any "real" content. That's a whole other rant though... So they sent me out to feature hunt after anyone that works outdoors is off. It's 14 degrees outside, so kids aren't going to be playing outside. Even better, there's only an hour of daylight ...

Yes, I actually took a picture of my tea kettle. I know I'm a dork. So I'm all about teabags now. Not that kind, sicko, real teabags. I went grocery shopping last night and really wanted some tea. I couldn't decide what kind I wanted, so I bought most of them. The cashier probably thought I was crazy when I set a box of black tea, a box of green tea, a box of spiced chai, a box of earl grey, a box of chamomile and a box of darjeeling. Oh well... she doesn't understand how good tea is. This is all part ...

Anybody have any ideas for photo essays or stories? I've been racking my brain trying to make a list of things to work on, and I only have a few so far. I'm looking for interesting people or events that don't get a lot of attention. I'm going to go out this week and talk to some basketball coaches for one idea I had. But after that, who knows? Any suggestions would be helpful... Thanks!

I like sorority girls

The sexiest couple of the night... We had a great time at Mal's Tri-Delta semi-formal last night. It was a lot of fun. Somehow I managed to go most of the night without having to dance. It's pretty rough hanging out with a bunch of sorority girls all night, but someone has to do it. I definitely felt like the oldest person in the room.
