I’m tired. I can’t fall asleep to save my life. This past week at work has been Hell. That’s a bad combination. So this might be a little more bitter than I you’re used to.

Just thought I’d warn you.

You’d think a little appreciation for doing something that isn’t even my job (I was unknowingly volunteered to do it by my boss) would be easy, but no. Instead of saying “Damn, Stephen. That’s great looking” or even a “cool, thank you,” I was asked to change it into the most nonsense order of information I’d ever heard of.

I didn’t have to change the site once, not twice, not three times; my boss made me chnage it four times in a matter of three days because he thought it would look better his way.

Now if I were a cocky person (I pretend to be in my head sometimes), I would have asked him why I didn’t see any online journalism awards hanging on his wall, or if he could write one line of HTML. But, after my blood stopped boiling, I did it his way and then bent over for my next corporate ass-kicking.

I think I might have to sit down with him soon and figure out what exactly my job is. I was hired as a photo tech, but he keeps adding slashes to it (yes, even though I’m grumpy, that still makes me think of Zoolander). Right now I’m a photo tech/ staff photographer/ paginator/ web designer. I might as well sell some ads and deliver the papers in the morning too.

This is why the girl that had my job before me quit. Until this week I thought she was over-reacting.

OK, I think I’m done talking about work now.

I’ll be doing a low-key New Years this year, which is fine by me. I’m just hanging out with Mal and Juli.

I’m working on a list of New Years resolutions that I’m going to post on Sunday. One that I know for sure: I will run the 2.5K at homecoming.

I’ll end on a good note, Colin is back in the country, safe and sound.

Everyone have a safe and happy New Year’s.
