11.24.05Happy Thanksgiving
General (0)I'm at home for Thanksgiving. Nothing too exciting, just eating with the people from my house unless Grandpa feels well enough to come over. He had surgery on his leg yesterday, but everything went well. Nothing feels like the holidays this year... it's kind of sad. Max is being extremely affectionate and cuddly right now. General (0)I'll take a gin and tonic. So I just watched the latest Tiki Bar TV video podcast. These guys are crazy. I think this is one of the best podcasts around because they teach you something while being funny. Most other podcasts only attempt to do one or the other. This latest episode features a robot bartender. I found a few of these actually exist, like this one in Korea. I also found a group of students at UMASS that made an automated bartender for a class project. If I had the time/ money/ knowledge to do something like that I would ...

11.22.05Dorms will open early
General (0)No penalty against EIU Housing... Eastern Illinois University's home page is now announcing that the residence halls will open early for students because of Saturday's NCAA I-AA playoff game against SIU. Hopefully they get the word out to those students... The Daily Eastern News finally updated their site to let people know about Saturday's game. Maybe someone at the DEN can do an online exclusive update about the residence halls?

General (0)Probably not as exciting as you were thinking. Hopefully it's not exciting to you. Mal is scanning some of her baby pictures now. You can see them on her flickr page. We are going to make cute babies... I am seriously thinking about going home for Thanksgiving early. I am so bored right now, and Charleston is a ghost town over holiday breaks. Danny and I are thinking about making a joint-blog full of all of the news the DEN missed. Poulter asked us if we had enough time to do all of that work though. Ha! General (0)If only the dorms were open... Eastern Sports Information must not realize that students aren't allowed to come back to campus until Sunday. There might be a 1,000 students in town for Saturday's playoff game, but that's about it. Danny offered a good suggestion on his blog... what if EIU Housing opened up the residence halls and let the students come back a day early?

11.21.05Fun with photoshop
General (0)Looks pretty close to a Holga... I have three cameras that would do this exact thing, but that would require using film and having it developed and getting it scanned... that's too much work. So I made a photoshop action that would make my digital files look like they were shot with a toy camera on film. I don't think it looks too bad.
