Ian Paul Haas is seen in the warmer of our room at Provena Covenant Medical Center Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in Urbana, Ill.

Baby MacGyver is still just hanging out for a little while… actually three days late now, which seems like an eternity. I can’t imagine what it feels like for Mal since she’s actually carrying him around.

We went to the doctor for another checkup this morning. The nurse hooked Mal up to the monitor for a while so they could make sure baby was OK. MacGyver seems to be perfect right where he’s at… and with the exception of a nasty rash, Mal is doing great too.

Nothing else to do right now but wait. I’ve tried pushing him out, we’ve taken walks, I’ve tried luring him out with toys and candy… nothing seems to work.

If he still hasn’t come by Thursday morning we have an appointment for Mal to be induced at 6 a.m., but for her sake I hope we don’t have to wait that long…

I’ll update if anything changes…

BABY ON BOARD
I’ve always wanted to get one of those “Baby on Board” signs for our cars… mainly just because Mal hates them so much.

We’re timing contractions in the living room right now, so I have a pen in my hand and she has a decent writing surface on her belly.

She’s lucky I’m not using my sharpie marker…

Another test of the phone straight to the blog… Our new pool is short enough that mal can wade around and barely has to pull her shorts up.

Purple dinosaur seen at an auction for a closing daycare Monday, June 8, 2009, in Decatur, Ill. — Testing out the ability and speed in posting photos from my phone to our blog in preparation for little MacGyver’s appearance.

UPDATE/ ADDITION: I’m used to working under deadline pressure, it’s kind of what I do every day… so I have a goal of getting a photo and/or video from my phone to Flickr and this blog in less than 10 minutes. Of course this all depends on how smooth the delivery is… Mal and the baby come first, so if there are any kind of problems I’m throwing the phone in my pocket and doing whatever I can to help.

So anyway… if all goes well the internet will be introduced to the baby in under ten minutes.
